Senior / Staff AI Platform Engineer

About the role
This is not an ML, data science, or research role. It is a software engineering role for someone who combines strong backend fundamentals with real experience shipping AI systems that customers use: copilots, agents, orchestration, tool-calling, and multi-step workflows. The heaviest weight goes to engineers who have designed and shipped agentic systems in production and think in terms of reliability, latency, cost, and user outcomes rather than just model performance.
What you will own
- Agentic AI systems in production: orchestration, context and memory management, tool selection, state, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Customer-facing AI features, copilots, and automation operated under real production load.
- Evaluation frameworks, monitoring, guardrails, model routing, and fallback mechanisms.
- Distributed, event-driven backend architecture that AI systems run on.
What we are looking for
- Five or more years of software engineering with strong backend and system design depth.
- Has shipped AI-powered product features or agents that real users rely on.
- Comfortable with LLM APIs in production, queues and messaging, and cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or Node.
Nice to have
- Production use of LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy, CrewAI, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel.
- Retrieval and vector database experience (secondary to agentic experience).
