Director of Product Design
Series B AI-native logistics software, remote US
About the role
This is a hands-on design leadership role inside the technology org. You'll manage and grow a group of product designers across several product areas and still do the work yourself. The product runs daily operations for thousands of carriers and brokers, and the company is building AI agents, conversational analytics and automation directly into it. You'll spend real time with customers, from onsite research to ride-alongs with drivers, and turn what you learn into product that measurably moves the business.
What you will own
- • Managing, coaching and hiring a team of product designers, with critique and leveling
- • Design for a complex enterprise web app: grids, schedulers, timelines, bulk actions and keyboard-driven workflows
- • The driver mobile app: offline behavior, error recovery, glanceability and one-handed use in the cab
- • Design system stewardship with front-end engineering, keeping Figma and code in sync
- • AI product surfaces, including agentic workflows and the patterns that make AI trustworthy
- • Prototyping in code, design QA, and analytics to measure what's working
- • Partnership with product and engineering leadership as a true peer
What we are looking for
- • 8+ years in product design and 3+ years managing designers, while staying an excellent hands-on designer
- • Deep experience with complex, data-dense B2B workflow software for professional users
- • Hands-on production design system work alongside engineering
- • Measurable UX impact on customer or business outcomes
- • Comfortable at Series B/C speed
- • A portfolio that shows thinking, tradeoffs and outcomes
Nice to have
- • Field or frontline mobile apps (drivers, technicians, warehouse, delivery) with offline and rugged-use constraints
- • AI-native or agentic product design
- • Prototyping in code
- • Logistics, fleet or freight tech background
